Join us wishing Mrs. Terri Turner well on her retirement!
Mrs. Turner has been in education for 33 years. She spent 3 years in another district before finding "home" with us at Circle for the next 30 years! During her time in the district, she has been a kindergarten teacher, first-grade teacher, Title 1 teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
Ms. Turner plans to relax and take a break from problem-solving all day, spend time with her grandchildren, and travel.
She says, "I think that being involved with the education of children to be the most rewarding experience anyone could ever have. Being able to assist in their future is a big job. Knowing that our students at Circle Towanda Elementary are the kindest children is something I will treasure because I had a part in creating that with lots of other people. Our children know how important it is to take care of each other and to do their best at all times. They also know that they may make a mistake here or there but they can overcome that mistake and learn from it. I have been blessed to have been a part of something so incredible for the past 30 years. I will miss everything about our community and family. It has been the most amazing adventure ever."
Congratulations on your retirement, Mrs. Turner!

Help us wish Mrs. Jennifer Duryea well on her upcoming retirement!
Mrs. Duryea has also been in education as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade teacher for 36 years--15 of those years here at Circle! She has been the assistant SADD sponsor at CHS and spent several years chaperoning dances and helping with concession stands. Mrs. Duryea has also belonged to CNEA for 15 years, serving as a building rep, vice-president, and president in that time.
Mrs. Duryea plans to travel with her husband, enjoy time with family and friends, make memories with her grandchildren, and just relax and eat lunch slowly!
Reflecting on her years in the classroom, Mrs. Duryea says, "As I was thinking about retiring, I was thinking about the changes I have seen over the years. In either my 2nd or 3rd year of teaching, the librarian wheeled a cart into my classroom with an Apple computer on it that was probably a 2--3-foot cube. It used a 5-inch floppy disk and had only green print. We had one computer for the whole school! Now all of my students have a Chromebook and are quite adept at using it! I have loved my time in the Circle district at Benton Elementary! So many fun memories - field trips, the music teas, spring fling, performing Christmas skits for the students, and planting in the CBE garden. Awesome students, supportive parents, and wonderful people to work with!"
Congratulations on your retirement, Mrs. Duryea!

Enjoy your day, savor the moment & we'll see you at graduation this Saturday!
